Ripples Release...

You don’t have to read the Consequences series to enjoy this stand-alone novel, but if you know Tony Rawlings, you know that disappointing him isn’t an option. Imagine being his youngest daughter...imagine telling him the unimaginable...

 “Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it.”

 Sometimes ideas find you, and dreams begin as nightmares. Sometimes the truth that has been kept hidden is the key to opening a door you never knew existed.

“You might not know me. I’m the baby of the Rawlings family, the princess, the daughter who came along later. I’m not like my older siblings, successful at everything they touch. My mother and father have provided me with every luxury as well as their unyielding love and support, but I’m not spoiled. I’m also not content. By example, my parents have shown me how love should be. I don’t know their past, and that doesn’t matter. I know what I’ve seen—two people devoted to one another.

I don’t believe that I’ll ever find that kind of love, the kind that forgives and accepts all. And as my life falls to pieces and I travel to visit my family to face their disappointment, I’m not even looking for it.

I’m looking for an escape...from my life as a Rawlings...from the pressure to achieve and not let others down. I dream of the time I can live for my own desires without the expectations that come with my name.

I don’t find what I’m seeking...it finds me. Or should I say...he finds me.

This time is different. I have a family who will search for me and find the answers. Little do we know—any of us—that my father set my journey into motion long before I was born.”

"Just as ripples spread out when a single pebble is dropped into water, the actions of individuals can have far-reaching effects." ~Dalai Lama

Ripples (Unabridged Version) is Natalie’s story, the youngest of Tony and Claire’s children—their baby. This story first appeared in shorter form in Glamour: Contemporary Fairytale Retellings. Due to the length restriction of each novella in that anthology, many scenes in Ripples were shortened or omitted for that anthology. This unabridged edition is the entire story—double in length and—a full-length novel.

Please enjoy this Consequences novel along with special appearances from your favorite Consequences characters.

Fantasy Lover Review...

Dear Reader,

Being trapped in a bedroom with a woman is a grand thing. Being trapped in hundreds of bedrooms over two thousand years isn't. And being cursed into a book as a love-slave for eternity can ruin even a Spartan warrior's day.

As a love-slave, I know everything about women. How to touch them, how to savor them, and most of all, how to pleasure them. But when I was summoned to fulfill Grace Alexander's sexual fantasies, I found the first woman in history who saw me as a man with a tormented past. She alone bothered to take me out of the bedroom and onto the world. She taught me to love again.

But I was not born to love. I was cursed to walk eternity alone. As a general, I had long ago accepted my sentence. Yet now I have found Grace--the one thing my wounded heart cannot survive without. Sure, love can heal all wounds, but can it break a two-thousand-year-old curse?

REVIEW!!!!

I have read a few books in this series but I recently found the box set of the first 18 books on my kindle so I decided to start from the beginning and work my way through them all.  So far I am glad I did but I’m only two books in lol.

After an awful break-up Grace Alexander has ultimately given up on love.  When one of her friends gives her a book that can summon a sexy stranger from the past she says the phrase in the book to appease her friend and expects nothing.  When Julian shows up naked in her living room she is shocked.  Julian was cursed to be a sex slave stuck in a book by one of his god brothers.  But to his surprise Grace may be the one person who can free him from his book for good.  The downside he can’t touch her until the last second and he will most likely go insane trying to do so.  Can these two save each other?  Do they end up with a happily ever after?  Does Julian go back to his time or does he stay with Grace?

I love this book so much.  The characters were amazingly written and you get to know them well.  Every time I turned around I was learning something new about these characters.  The plot was something new and unique for me.  I would love to own a book where Julian came out and I got to keep him forever after saving him.  I could easily put myself in the place of the characters as I read.  I truly enjoyed this book and look forward to continuing the series.

I love Sherrilyn’s writing style.  This series was among the first books I read in the adult genre.  I started with Chronicles of Nick and wanted to know more about the characters he helped so I joined the adult fantasy world.  So thank you to Sherrilyn for expanding my reading horizons.  I can’t wait to move on with the next book.

The Hunt Review...

My name is Hunter O’Shea and I have a confession to make…I’ve met a girl who consumes me. I know that makes me sound completely whipped, but Mary “Lamb” Mitts has the power to bring me to my knees…it’s just too bad she hates my guts. But that’s okay, because I hate hers, too. The fiery redhead stirs something in me that I can’t explain.

This temporary insanity could be due to the fact my best friend, who used to be a bigger player than me, is getting married. That must be it. I’m caught up in an Oprah moment.

The only solution is to get back in the game and forget she exists. That theory is great—too bad I don’t want anyone else.

I…just…want…her.

I’m so screwed.

REVIEW!!!

I struggled through this book but didn’t give up.  It definitely picked up so I’m glad I pushed through.
This book started out really slowly and it was kind of confusing to follow at the begin.  However, about half way through it picked up the pace and everything started to be more clear.  With the pace and confusion at the beginning of the book I almost gave up.  I also thought there were too many food related nicknames.  I struggled to keep Cherry Pie and Shortcake separate in the beginning, again it became easier once you only saw one of them for the most part through all of the book.  The book felt like an espionage book most of the time because your trying to figure out whose playing who and trying to watch the romance unfold.
So while the plot was great and the characters were well formed I felt like there was too much mashed into a short time frame.  Or maybe it could have been timed differently to make it easier to read.  I also have not read any of the other books this one follows but it is a standalone.  I didn’t feel like I was missing anything.  I feel if it were cleaned up a little bit then it would have been easier to read.

Afterburn/Aftershock Review...

Never mix business with pleasure. Never bring politics into the bedroom. In a way I did both when I took Jackson Rutledge as a lover. I can't say I wasn't warned.

Two years later, he was back. Walking into a deal I'd worked hard to close. Under the tutelage of Lei Yeung, one of the sharpest businesswomen in New York, I had picked up a thing or two since Jax walked away. I wasn't the girl he once knew, but he hadn't changed. Unlike the last time we'd drifted into each other's lives, I knew exactly what I was dealing with... and how addictive his touch could be.

The inner circle of glamour, sex, and privilege was Jax's playground--but this time, I knew the rules of the game. In the cutthroat business world, one adage rules all: keep your enemies close and your ex-lovers closer...

REVIEW!!!

The fantastic cast of characters is a re-read for me.  I know it is coming to PassionFlix in November and I couldn’t remember the details.  So glad I picked it up again.

Now this is the only book I’ve ever read by Sylvia Day and I keep telling myself that I will read more by her.  However, my list keeps getting stuffed with tour books or other books I want to read more so it hasn’t happened yet.  Sylvia is an amazing author who can weave a tale into something so much more.

The characters were amazing and full of life.  The plot was fun and unique.  I felt like I was a part of this story.  There was such a unique mix of people and places visited in this book.  It had a little bit of everything emotion wise.  You had hatred of characters like Ian and a love for the entire Rossi clan.  There wasn’t much I would change about this book.  I do want more though.  I want to know what happens with the rest of the Rossi clan and well everybody.  Is it a series?  I hope it is.

The Forbidden Wish Review...

She is the most powerful Jinni of all. He is a boy from the streets. Their love will shake the world...

When Aladdin discovers Zahra's jinni lamp, Zahra is thrust back into a world she hasn't seen in hundreds of years—a world where magic is forbidden and Zahra's very existence is illegal. She must disguise herself to stay alive, using ancient shape-shifting magic, until her new master has selected his three wishes.

But when the King of the Jinn offers Zahra a chance to be free of her lamp forever, she seizes the opportunity—only to discover she is falling in love with Aladdin. When saving herself means betraying him, Zahra must decide once and for all: is winning her freedom worth losing her heart?

As time unravels and her enemies close in, Zahra finds herself suspended between danger and desire in this dazzling retelling of Aladdin from acclaimed author Jessica Khoury.

~~~~****~~~~****~~~~
REVIEW!!!
I have mixed feelings about this book.  It is a retelling of Aladdin but I struggled through it.  I liked the general idea behind the story.  My main concern was that it didn’t flow very well in my opinion.  I also got a little confused as to who was who.  There were a lot of characters and I felt like I trying to remember who was who at every corner.  The flow and pace were also off and didn’t work well together.
I felt like one minute I was part of the book and then I lost that connection.  It went back and forth like that through the whole book.  So there were parts that were really good and I honestly almost gave up on the book.  I did however keep trying and I finished it while I was on vacation.  The last half seemed to work best and I didn’t struggle as much as I did through the first half.
All in all it was a good book with great characters and an interesting plot it just needs a little bit of work to make it work.  I would read more about these characters if something became available.  I do realize that the copy I was reading was an ARC and I hope that some of these kinks I mentioned weren’t as apparent in the finished book.
The One Night Stand Cover Reveal...
Gabriel Torres thought his life after Major League Baseball would be simple and quiet, or at least quieter. However, as he takes over running the exclusive Players Club, he finds himself continually embroiled in scandal and drama. Surely nothing, and no one could make his life any crazier...Right?
Rachel Adler is a blast from Gabe’s past who crashed back into his life with the finesse of a freight train. But she's a welcome distraction. At least for a night.
Rachel has been working hard to become one of the top sports journalists in the country. She doesn't have time for a long-term romance or irresistibly charming baseball players. A one-night-stand with the man who she knew would hit it out of the park was all she wanted.
But when she gets a tip that Gabe could have ties to one of the biggest sports stories in history, a story that could make her career, Rachel decides that maybe she has a little time for the sexy baseball player after all. As she gets in deeper with both her story and Gabe, Rachel begins to question who she is, what she wants, and what exactly she’s willing to sacrifice for her career.
Will the potential grand-slam romance be stopped short or will Rachel and Gabe be able to go the distance?
Elizabeth Hayley is actually "Elizabeth" and "Hayley," two friends who love reading romance novels to obsessive levels. This mutual love prompted them to put their English degrees to good use by penning their own. The product is Pieces of Perfect, their debut novel. They learned a ton about one another through the process, like how they clearly share a brain and have a persistent need to text each other constantly (much to their husbands' chagrin).
They live with their husbands and kids in a Philadelphia suburb. Thankfully, their children are still too young to read.
Elizabeth Hayley's writing motto is best captured by the words of Patrick Dennis: "I always start with a clean piece of paper and a dirty mind."
Book Blurb:
Sienna Mills knows her alpha males.
They brood.
They growl.
They love the word “mine”.
After spending her early twenties in and out of relationships with alphas, Sienna used her knowledge to found Alpha Mail, a booming business that allows women to sign up for emails, letters, and texts from their own brooding, red-blooded man.
Her star is on the rise and Sienna is attracting the interest of investors when a mysterious man starts messaging her about the true nature of an alpha. She’s got it all wrong, he says, and he’s willing to show her how a real man makes women respond.
The more Sienna hears from him, the more aggravated she becomes. Who does this anonymous, supposed alpha think he is, anyway?
And yet…she can’t deny his messages are becoming the best part of her days. Commitment-phobic Sienna finds herself wanting more from her sensei of seduction. But is she willing to trust her heart to an alpha again?
REVIEW:
This book was unique to say the least.
So the book follows spitfire Sienna as she finds love in somebody unexpected and expands her business.  She had all but given up on love and created a business that provided what she was looking for to other women every day.  She was surrounded by strong, hot alpha males every day and didn’t give them a second look.  She is busy with the expansion and taking care of her best friend, Carmen and her dying son, Jack.  But when she starts getting emails from an anonymous alpha mail to her work email she starts to fall for that person.  RoughRider16 has been in love with Sienna for years but she is off limits to him.  He wants to know her better so he starts emailing her and refuses to go further than chatting…he won’t even tell her his name.  What happens when the truth comes out?  Can these two make the relationship work?  Does Sienna end up with the ultimate Alpha male she has been looking for?
I loved the book so much.  There is one spot where I couldn’t help but crack up because it is just so well placed and just crazy.  I loved all the characters and the plot.  With the email parts it got kind of hard to follow with all the back and forth and I had to keep going back to see who was replying.  However, from the moment I met a certain character I knew he was RoughRider16 just by the way he acted with her.  There is so much more I could say about this book but it would give so much away so I will just say that this is a must read.
I look forward to reading more books by Brenda Rothert soon.  I loved her writing style and the way she told the story.  You are immediately plopped into the characters and you feel like you belong in their world.
REVIEW!!!
I love the Wicked Horse series but have only gotten half way through the original series.  This is the first one I’ve read in the Las Vegas spin off and it’s number three.  So I was a bit hesitant in reading it as I wasn’t sure if I needed to read the first two.  Good news it is a stand alone!
Dane, Avril and Andrew have been a trio since college.  They did everything together including starting their own company.  When Avril is cheated on and dumped however she decides it’s time to open her horizons a bit more.  So when Dane invites Andrew to The Wicked Horse with him she decides to go too.  Dane isn’t too happy about that but she falls in love with it and continues to show up.  Things heat up when she ends up in a threesome with Dane and another club member.  Then the dynamic changes again when Andrew shows up at the club one night and spots Avril and Dane together.  When Andrew realizes how the other two feel about each other he bows out quickly and quietly.  But how much can Dane change?  Can he get over his past or will he lose Avril forever?  Can Avril be happy without the commitment or is she okay with just a sex relationship?  How does Andrew end up fitting into their trio?  Can these friendships withstand the outcomes?
As I said before I have read at least half of the original series and I loved it.  I do have the rest all ready to go on my kindle just haven’t gotten to them yet.  I hadn’t realized this spin-off Las Vegas series was already three books in and I can’t wait to go back and read the other two books.  I fell in love with these characters just as much as I did the original characters.  I love the plot of the book but I was a bit thrown by the Dane, Avril and Andrew threesome relationship.  It was kind of over before it even got started and I feel like that little part could be left out.  But on the other hand without Andrew pulling out of the relationship Dane and Avril wouldn’t have come to realize how they feel about one another.  I have a love/hate relationship with that part I guess lol.  The flow and pace were excellent as well.
I have read several of Sawyer Bennett’s books, outside of the Wicked Horse series, and enjoyed them as well.  She is has quickly made her way onto my favorite/go to author list.  I love the tone of her books and her writing style.  I enjoy seeing what new kind of chaos she can invoke in her stories.  If you have note read these books then you really should!
Exclusive Excerpt:
“You just let yourself in now?” Lydia accused with narrowed eyes and a full mouth.
Remington grinned, sliding easily into their special vibe that only existed when they were alone together. Uncomplicated, silly, innocent.
“What are you eating?” he asked, closing the door behind him.
“Cereal,” she slurped, lifting her chin to catch a dribble of milk off her chin.
“Fancy.”
“I live the high life. What are you doing here?”
“You don’t have a telescope. Someone who looks at the sky as often as you, should have a telescope.”
He produced the used item from behind his back and presented it to her.
“You bought me a telescope?” she asked.
“I bought us a telescope,” he clarified. “At a flea market. So, who knows if it even works all that well,” he added with a shrug.
“Hm.” She perked up, her eyebrows lifting into her hairline. “If it’s broken, I can fix it.”
“Why doesn’t that surprise me?”
He set it aside and came fully into the apartment. He stopped a foot away and eyed her appearance more critically.
“What’s wrong with you?”
“Rude.” Lydia glared at him before turning her back and taking her cereal bowl to her bed.
“No, I mean…something’s different…?” Remington noticed the slight limp in her gait and the slow way she lowered herself onto the mattress. “Are you hurt?”
Lydia puffed up her cheeks and blew the air out. “Only literally.”
His pulse jumped and he glanced around the apartment. As if expecting to have to fight someone or something. “What happened?”
“I am going to be just fine,” she reassured him. “It’s nothing some Advil and a full body massage won’t fix. Do you feel like this all the time?” she asked, shifting with a grimace as she tried to prop her pillow behind her back.
“What do you mean?” he asked, crossing to her and assisting with the pillow.
“You work out every day, right?”
Remington felt a smile slowly spread across his face. “You went to the gym?”
She snorted and rolled her eyes. “Yeah. I thought I was in pretty good shape too, but muscles I didn’t even know I had are using horribly foul language on me.”
“I’m hurt, Larkin. If you were going to sign up with a trainer, why didn’t you ask me first?”
The unamused expression she shot him made him laugh out loud.
“I didn’t hire a trainer. My friend Brenda talked me into self-defense classes in the form of Krav Maga.” She slowly stretched her legs out in front of her and winced.
“That’s awesome!” he declared. “I do Jui Jitsu!”
“Good for you.” She did not sound congratulatory.
“If you keep up with it, you won’t have soreness like this,” he told her, shuffling her over so he could join her on the bed. “Finish your cereal, you big kid, and I’ll give you an athletic massage.”
She took a bite of her cereal and eyed him with obvious suspicion. “I don’t know if that’s a good idea.”
“Why? Because I’ll be touching your body and you’re so uncontrollably attracted to me?” he teased. “Keep it in your pants, Larkin.”
“I changed my mind,” she said, swallowing her mouthful. He tilted his head in question. “I thought I was done hating you, but no.”
Remington barked a laugh that had him tipping his head back to rest on the wall behind him.
“One of these days I’m gonna be a Krav Maga expert and I’m going to kick your ass. Who’ll be laughing then?”
He rolled his head to the side to grin at her. “Honestly, that sounds amazing. We can spar each other.”
Lydia caught his gaze and she grew quiet. “We already spar.”
“I know.” His smile softened. “I love it.”
About Heidi Hutchinson:
Heidi Hutchinson was born in South Dakota and raised the exact right distance away from the Black Hills. She had an overactive imagination very early on, and wasted no time in getting most of her friends in trouble due to her unrealistic and completely ridiculous ideas. Seeing as she was so lazy and also afraid people would think she was bonkers, she didn't write down any of the story lines that played out in her daydreams.
During her high school years, she took pen to paper and filled more notebooks than she is proud of with angsty, depressing, self-deprecating poetry. This led to her writing down more things: notes, ideas, character bios, plot twists that had no plot yet to twist. After years of cleaning up her own scraps of imagination with nothing solid to hold on to, she sat down and wrote the story that had been in her head the longest. Fueled by coffee and her unwavering and perfectly normal devotion to Dave Grohl, she discovered a writer living inside of her.
She still lives in the Midwest, though not as close to the Black Hills as she would prefer, with her alarmingly handsome husband and their fearless child. They eat more pizza than God intended and she listens to her music the same way she lives: loudly.
REVIEW
Wow, just wow!  This was my first book by Casey Peeler and I am in love with it all.
First of all I love that it took place in the south.  It didn’t say much but I believe it said that it was in the Carolinas.  I wish I would have read it last week while I was in the Carolinas visiting but what can you do?  Now about the book!  Rae lost her parents and grandmother when she was young.  She was raised by her Granddaddy and now she is in her late teens and her world is being rocked again.  Not only is her granddaddy diagnosed with a drastic form of cancer but also the boy she lost has come back to town.  She struggles to handle it all even if that means pushing the one person she needs most away from her.  Emmett moved back and the moment he sees her he knows he wants to be more than friends.  The only thing standing in his way is the fact that the guy he considers a friend has a prior claim.  Or does he?  Can Emmett wait her out while she struggles to grasp her new reality?  Can Rae move on and hold it together for the world?  Can this little self formed family help Rae move on when she loses the last family member she knows?
You will laugh.  You will cry.  You won’t see the curve ball flying at you until it hits and then you will be caught at your desk bawling.  Just saying!  Casey created a world of characters that you didn’t want to leave.  I haven’t cried because of a book in a long time and this one had me running to the bathroom at work to just cry it out.  It was pure ugly cry.  I loved the characters and the strength they showed for each other.  It was a pure southern feel to the book that did me in though I think.  The plot was just amazing.  The flow felt a bit off in some places but it was good in most.  The pace was amazing.  I absolutely love the writing style as well.
I personally have added yet another author to my must read list.  I truly look forward to reading more by the author soon.  Such an amazing and quick read.  I’m in love with everything about the book!  Thank you for the good cry (even if it was at work) and an amazing book!
REVIEW
The sisters are back as the fight for the crown continues.  Do they come to find new powers?  Do they work together in the end?  Who will survive in the end and who will die?  Who ends up with who?  Who ends up on the throne?
This book leaves you asking all these questions as you wind your way through it.  Each page was a new twist and the characters are extremely fun to watch grow.  I have enjoyed each every second of this book and have also fallen deeper in love with the author’s writing style.  The plot gets more and more intense as their tale continues to unwind and grow.
If you have not read the first book then it is a must before you read this one or you will be absolutely and utterly confused in the end.  I look forward to finding out what happens with the sisters next because I know this is not the end.  It can’t be!
