Looking for a good romance with some mystery? How about a good mystery that's far too warm to be called cozy? The P.U.R.E. by Claire Gillian fits the bill on both counts, and it's on sale for the first time ever for only 99 cents at most booksellers.
What's it about? Here are a few details:
Fresh out of college, Gayle’s career path should follow the yellow brick road straight to the top. Thanks to a menial errand gone wrong, a wayward tongue, and a randy supervisor who won’t take ‘no’ for an answer, Gayle’s stuck in corporate hell.
Discovering a company secret only turns up the heat.
The one part of her life not going down in flames is her friendship with the gorgeous but intensely private, Jon Cripps. Jon would make the perfect consolation prize for Gayle’s pity party if dating a co-worker wasn’t career suicide. Then again, with all Gayle has been through, maybe falling in love is the lucky break she needs.
Hitting the cool sheets with Jon soothes her mind and body, but it also enrages whoever’s behind the smokescreen she’s uncovered at work. Someone is willing to kill to protect their secrets, and Gayle and Jon are the targets.
With both her heart and livelihood at stake, Gayle’s early career-limiting moves could turn into life-terminating ones.

"If you thought a romantic suspense about a couple of CPA's in trouble might read a bit dull, think again. Ms. Gillian's wit is razor sharp. The pace flies like a bullet from a gun and hits the target with satisfying accuracy." ~Julie Reece, author of Crux
"Claire Gillian did an amazing job intertwining the overall mystery plot with the “Girl falling for the guy at the office” plot." ~Jennifer Eaton, author of Make Believe

Claire Gillian is the pen name for a number-crunching executive by
day and a darkly romantic curmudgeon by night. She also writes fifty shades naughtier stuff under the pen name of Lila Shaw,
but please don’t tell her mother. No matter which name she uses,
Claire is happiest penning romance drenched in humor with a dash of
intrigue and loads of spice.

REVIEW BY RACHEL:
The P.U.R.E by Claire Gillian is an awesome blend of
romance, thriller and mystery. An auditor, Gayle, finds herself in the
center of a workplace conspiracy and growing close to her workmate, Jon
Cripps, in the process. She senses he too has his secrets but she can't
resist the attraction, especially after drunkenly kissing him at a work
party. Gayle is a very curious and gossipy character but I found myself
liking her and her almost bumbling way of going from one disaster to
another, and yet somehow managing to remaining optimistic, ready for the
next mystery. There is some joking banter between Jon and Claire that
she is like Nancy Drew and I can see a lot of elements of Nancy Drew in
this book. It is very much a Nancy Drew for adults, with attraction and
sex included. I loved the flow of the conversations between Jon and
Claire and the surprise near the end. It isn't very often that a book
manages to sneak something up on me but this one does, and that
definitely earned it points. There are a couple of really hot sex scenes
in this book, including a scene in the shower and one in the bad guy's
office. I really found myself enjoying this book, especially the
romance, and I give it 4 out of 5.
