Ride Review...

Title: Ride: In Between The Covers
Series: Carolina Bad Boys Book 3
Author: Rie Warren
Genre: Contemporary Erotic Romance
Page count: Approx 110 pages
Date of release: January 8, 2015

The full, sexy, New Adult version of RIDE, the novella featured in Stone, At Your Service, Carolina Bad Boys series.
College man Jase Everly has bad boy written all over him. Rides a motorcycle? Check. Has tats? You bet. Couldn't give a shit about rules? He's all over that.
When he's cut off from the oil baron family funds, he finds a new way to support his education, his bike habit, his bad habits. And his business venture is nothing he's proud of.
Top-notch student Avery Greene is a good girl. Deans List, never missed a class, straitlaced material. She's on the college fast track until one night and one jock destroy her life. She hides inside her sweaters. She buries her nose in her books.
She ignores the pain inside her, and she's sure she hates Jase from the moment she lays eyes on him.
The problem isAvery needs someplace to stay, and Jase wants a roommate. They’re enemies at first sight. Now they’re going to live together.
Roomies? Maybe.
Romance? Never.
That’s what she said.
Please note: This story includes a discussion of rape. This painful conversation is necessary for the growth of the couple's relationship.

So I love the Carolina Bad Boys book but not quite sure where the Carolina part comes into this book. I admit that yes Jase is definitely a bad boy with a good heart but the book is about Texans from what I can tell.

Anyways, I loved the book in general because the characters are beyond amazing. The story is good. I kind of with you learned what Jase did for a living or what made Avery run from the dorms just a little bit sooner. But not knowing also kept me interested in the book. It was funny, interesting and intriguing.

Once again I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Transcending Darkness...

Author: Airicka Phoenix
Genre: Contemporary Dark Romance
Hosted by: Lady Amber's Tours

One: Sign the contract.

Juliette Romero had a debt to pay, a debt that wasn’t even hers. But it was the only way to keep her family safe and all she had to do was sell her body and soul to the devil.

Killian McClary wasn’t called the Scarlet Wolf for nothing. He’d been the head of the McClary Organization since he was fifteen and had built a reputation for being a ruthless son of a bitch when it came to running the city’s underbelly, not to mention merciless when it came to punishing those who betray him. He didn’t believe in weaknesses. Only results. Juliette, with her shy smiles and hot little body was a weakness unlike any other and yet he was powerless to resist one more taste of her sweet flesh.

Two: Become his for a year.

When given the choice between her life or her body, what could Juliette possibly do, but submit to a man whose very name invoked fear in the hearts of others? She just never anticipated falling for his dark, hungry eyes and clever hands, or the way the beast in him made her feel oddly safe and cherished.

But what will happen when Killian’s dark past finally catches up to him and threatens the woman he can no longer imagine himself without? What will happen when both sides find themselves caught in a web of passion, lies and broken promises? Can Juliette tame the wolf or will her love for him devour them both?

Three: Don’t fall in love.

Boundaries will be crossed, loyalties will be tested and lives will be changed forever.

Maybe Somday Review...

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover, a passionate tale of friendship, betrayal, and romance.

At twenty-two years old, Sydney has a great life: She’s in college, working a steady job, in love with her wonderful boyfriend, Hunter, and rooming with her best friend, Tori. But everything changes when she discovers Hunter's cheating on her—and she is left trying to decide what to do next.

Sydney becomes captivated by Ridge, her mysterious neighbor. She can’t take her eyes off him or stop listening to his playing his guitar every day out on his balcony. And there’s something about Sydney that Ridge can’t ignore, either. When their inevitable encounter happens, they soon find themselves needing each other in more ways than one…

From the author of the New York Times bestsellers Slammed, Point of Retreat, Hopeless, This Girl, and Losing HopeMaybe Someday is destined to be another bestseller and long-lasting fan favorite.

Holy Freaking Crap!!!! I truly enjoyed this book and have no words to explain why but I will try. This book covers just about every emotion out there. I cried, I laughed and I wanted to slap the characters. Sometimes I did all three at the same time, not a lot of authors can do that. I was a little confused by the prolouge but then it jumps back and tells you what led up to the events in the prolouge before moving onto what happens after that, so it winds up making sense. I loved that actual songs were used (or created) for this book. I actually bought the soundtrack to listen to each song as I read. I actually fell in love with the song I'm In Trouble as I read it in the book and then listened to it.
Character wise I was a little conflicted. Sydney and Ridge are unique. I don't know that I have ever read about a character that even comes close to Ridge and I don't know that I can even really tell you why without spoilers (and I don't want to spoil it for those of you who haven't read it yet). I loved all the characters but there were a few times where I was conflicted by their actions.
I’ve just got to say that this book is hands down one of the best books I’ve read this year. Colleen Hoover sure knows how to write a book that keeps you engaged and wanting more. I absolutely loved this book. It was easy to connect with the characters and kept me guessing as to what was going to happen next.
There were a lot of quippy one liners and pranks going on in this book and it just made it even more interesting in my book. I don't know why but one of the lines that made me laugh the most was: "Where did the strong Sydney go? Oh well, I'll look for her later." This was an internal thought of Sydney's and it comes at the perfect time. A little bit of humor in a sad part of the book. This book has become one of my top favorites and I can't wait to read Maybe Not because it should be just as great! 5 brilliant stars! Reviewed by Kayla:

There is just something about Sydney that Ridge can’t ignore her. He believes that she is his muse. There is a lot of things that happen in this book and I find that I don’t want to spoil it for anyone but I think that everyone should read this book because it is truly amazing and I loved every minute of reading it. I give it 5 out of 5 stars!

3 Seconds Review...

Title: 3 Seconds
Author: Bethany Lopez
Release DateAugust 25, 2015

Synopsis: A lot can happen in 3 Seconds. It's the space of time between walking onstage and stepping up to the mic. It’s that moment when your eyes meet across a crowded room and the chemistry between you is undeniable.

Bronagh has accomplished a lot in her thirty-five years. A successful pub owner and happy divorcée, she's learned to enjoy life, but have realistic expectations. Her past has taught her that it's best not to depend on others, but that doesn't mean she won't sample a tasty morsel when it's right in front of her.

After taking a break from culinary school to travel abroad, Brendan is back and eager to finish what he started. Although he relishes the nights he gets to play with his brothers in their band, and enjoys their healthy supply of groupies, he's ready to start acting like the twenty-something that he is…a fact he craves to prove with Bronagh.

What starts as a one-night-stand becomes more when Bronagh and Brendan realize that they can't walk away. But can a younger man who's prone to late nights and scantily-clad women convince a woman who's been hurt that age doesn't matter, and he's the man she needs?

“Okay, Bronagh, what’s the big emergency?” my friend Ming asked when we were all settled in the corner booth of mine and my da’s pub. “Not that I’m not always up for drinks, but you made it sound like you’d just found out that Henry Cavill is gay, and all hope for your future together was lost.”
I smiled half-heartedly at her joke, but my mind was too boggled to fully appreciate her quick wit.
I figured it was best to just rip the Band-Aide off quickly and get straight to the part where they agreed that I was right, and needed to forget that I’d ever seen Brendan naked.
As if that could ever happen…
“I went home with that lead singer the other night, had fan-freaking-tastic sex, and it turns out he’s one of my students at the culinary school.” That said, I let out a long breath, then picked up my dirty martini and took a swift drink.
“Yay!” Cass, the third member of our trio, shrieked, startling me with her exuberance.
I gave her the stink eye over my glass.

I enjoyed this book.  It is the first book in the Time for Love Series that I have read and I would definitely go back and read some of the other books in the series.  Even knowing this was part of a series I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything and that is always a plus in stand alone series.

I truly loved the characters and the idea behind the story.  I did however think that the pace seemed to slow down in the middle.  Things seemed to move quickly at the beginning and the end but it slowed in the middle for me and I won't lie I almost put it down.  I am extremely glad I didn't though because once it got past that things got really good again.

Ticket to Love Review...

When Evelyn Parker turns thirty-five, she isn’t happy. Life seems to be ticking past her. By now, she wanted to be married and have kids, the same life all of her friends have. Then Eve’s grandmother gives her a birthday gift that changes her whole life—a winning lottery ticket. With her new money, Eve tries to stay conservative, but for some reason, her pesky neighbor seems to think he gets to have a say on how she’s living life.

Brad Turner has lived next door to Evelyn for years. She’s always been a sweet woman for the most part, until his dog decides her trash is his next dinner. Then Eve shows her true self, igniting a spark in him, and a craving for more.

Before long, Eve and Brad find themselves tangled up in each other’s life. One moment they are fighting and the next kissing. Can they figure out if they can be a couple, especially given Brad’s obsession about money and Evelyn’s hiding her millions from him?

Lacey Wolfe hit the nail on the head again.  She has a writing style that let's a person feel like they are a part of the world she is writing.  The characters are dynamic and I love the bickering they always end up doing with each other.  I love the Grandmother character too...she is the comedic aspect of the book in my opinion.  Lacey always has a male lead that you want to reach in and pull out of the book and make real.  I would love to find a real life Brad.

The book had a smooth flow and with this group of characters it is one that you absolutely cannot miss.  I know that I say this about every one of her books but I am absolutely in love with this book and I can't wait to read more books by her!!

5 blazing stars!!!!

Exclusive Excerpt:

Wallace Bryce Talbert was dead. She was standing next to him, and distantly, she was aware of the blood spilling out, spreading to seep around her toes, sinking into the crack of her feet.
They had hardwood floors. She could mop. She should mop. Except it was a crime scene. You didn’t just mop up a crime scene. There were procedures to follow and—her stomach heaved suddenly, and she whirled, her foot sliding in the spreading blood as she scrambled for the trash bin. She’s still in the dress she wore to their engagement party, her hair half down in, makeup smudged.
Hair falls in the trashcan, and she gags as vomit catches in it.
She straightened slowly and made a face. Wonderful. There was now a dead body on the floor and vomit in her hair. The night was definitely on a downward spiral.
There is a sharp knock on the front door, but Charlie doesn't move to answer.
She shouldn't have called Ella, but it happened before she could think, while Wallace was still gasping, his eye shocked and angry while she fumbled for her phone and stood over him.
The voice breaks the cocoon of distance, and she draws in a shuddering breath.
"Oh holy fuck." EJ breathes the curse like a prayer and stumbles across the room to grab Charlie, yanking her around. Her eyes and hands are frantic as she looks over the other woman, and a hysterical giggle works it's way up Charlie's throat and bubbles over.
EJ goes still and watchful, her sharp blue eyes locked onto Charlie's. "Charlie, I need you to focus on me. Tell me what happened."
The words snap her laughter off and Charlie shudders, a full body spasm that makes EJ's hands on her shoulders tighten for a heartbeat.
