A Shade of Vampire

Goodreads Description:
On the evening of Sofia Claremont's seventeenth birthday, she is sucked into a nightmare from which she cannot wake.

A quiet evening walk along a beach brings her face to face with a dangerous pale creature that craves much more than her blood.

She is kidnapped to an island where the sun is eternally forbidden to shine.
An island uncharted by any map and ruled by the most powerful vampire coven on the planet. She wakes here as a slave, a captive in chains.

Sofia's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn when she is the one selected out of hundreds of girls to join the harem of Derek Novak, the dark royal Prince.

Despite his addiction to power and obsessive thirst for her blood, Sofia soon realizes that the safest place on the island is within his quarters, and she must do all within her power to win him over if she is to survive even one more night.

Will she succeed? ...or is she destined to the same fate that all other girls have met at the hands of the Novaks?

My Review:
This is book one of a series by Bella Forrest.  The last thing I needed was another series to keep track of but oh well I guess that's life.  This book was amazing...a bit short in my opinion but still an awesome read.  I finished it at like 1 in the morning because I couldn't put it down.  I automatically picked up book number 2 because I wanted to see what happened next.  This is a far cry from all the vampire books I have ever read (Morganville Vampires, Vampire Diaries, House of Night, Twilight, etc.) and was VERY original and intriguing.  I feel that most Vampire books are starting to look a lot alike but this was a new view on vampirism and I absolutely loved it.  If somebody wanted to read a new book about vampires I would totally suggest this.  It had it all, the love triangles (a few of them in a way), the protective guy, the girl with the interesting ability/skill/trait and oh so much more.  I don't know that I can say enough about this book at all and still do it justice.

My Rating:
Five out of five stars

What else am I reading:
Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
Reached by Ally Condie
Witches of Santa Anna (8 - 13) by Lauren Barnholdt
and
A Shade of Blood (the sequel to this book) by Bella Forrest

Reviews for these coming soon.  Some reviews of a couple more past books also to come as soon as I can. Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy them all yourself.
