This book wasn’t what I was expecting at all. I grabbed it because the cover and title caught my attention as well as the fact that I usually enjoy Kendall’s books. I was not let down at all with this book.
The book follows a girl who gets stuck in Texas during her cross country trip moving to LA from New York. She meets twin brothers Luke and Duke and falls for Luke. They both say that it will just be a fling knowing she was leaving soon but can they let each other go in the long run or will they end up together. Will she help the brothers market their whiskey distillery? Will she end up leaving in the long run? Will all the truth and secrets of their pasts come out?
I enjoyed the book. I thought the plot was well formed and thought out. I loved the characters and felt like I was there with them. I love the authors writing style. Where I ran into a few issues was the pace and the flow. I felt like together these were a little bit choppy. It wasn’t a major issue but I think there could have been more to the story that could have helped with the flow/pace a bit. It ended too soon.
However I can’t wait to see what happens next with these characters! Does Duke end up with her best friend?
